New Home or Resale?
With the recent adjustment in the housing market, now is an excellent
time for buyers to purchase a reasonably-priced home in the Truckee-
North Tahoe area.  When it's time to make a move or purchase a vacation
property, one of the first decisions most people make is whether to buy a
brand-new house or a previously owned home.  Here are some distinct
advantages of each choice:

New House:

  • Contemporary floor plans that might include a "great room," bigger
    closets, more baths and other newer features
  • More energy-efficient insulation, windows and heating/cooling
    systems
  • New homes will not require as much maintenance and repairs as an
    existing home

Resale home:

  • Existing features such as window treatments and mature
    landscaping that may cost more in a brand-new home
  • The opportunity to use an existing house as a base to remodel and  
    create a unique home
  • Existing homes often cost less than comparable new homes
